Current Status of the Clayton County Public School System
Dr. Morcease J. Beasley was appointed by the Clayton County Board of Education on May 8, 2017, to serve as Superintendent of Clayton County Public Schools.
Prior to his appointment, Dr. Beasley served as Clayton County Public Schools Chief School Improvement Officer. As Superintendent, Dr. Beasley leads one of the top 100 largest school districts in the nation and the fifth largest school system in the state of Georgia, with over 54,000 diverse students, 7,300 employees, and 65 learning sites and educational programs.
Amongst his many accomplishments, Dr. Beasley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama, and a Master of Science degree in Mathematics Education from Samford University located in Birmingham, Alabama. In addition, he has an Educational Specialist as well as a Doctorate degree in Education with an emphasis on Educational Leadership from Samford University. Dr. Beasley has also completed Harvard University’s Public Educational Leadership Program. He is nationally known as an innovative speaker and instructor, with over 20 years of dedicated service towards the instructional practices and education of young people.
